Kitchen Design Special Contest: the partnership between Ernestomeda and The Plan is renewed

Ernestomeda supplies the kitchens for the use of guests at  Casa Maria Luigia, the new guest house belonging to Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore, offering the chance to experience unique Emilian hospitality.

Bottura, Chef Patron of Michelin three-star restaurant Osteria Francescana, ranked top of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2016 and 2018, recently inaugurated the guest house that bears his mother's name, where guests can relax amidst a blend of art, nature and traditional and gourmet cuisine.

Casa Maria Luigia was conceived to provide comfortable, elegant, friendly hospitality, where every action is based on a sense of sharing. For this reason, the Ernestomeda kitchens are fundamentally important, providing an area where guests can really feel at home.

The composition created with Icon, in the  IconColor version, chosen by the Chef for the main kitchen at Casa Maria Luigia features Ingo Black matt lacquered units and Ernestomeda exclusive Stone+ worktop, together with an island with  Carrara Marble worktop. The kitchen's convenience is even further enhanced by the use of appliances by the Grundig brand, including the hob, oven, microwave and refrigerator.

The main kitchen is the fulcrum of the guest house, completely at the guests' disposal, where they can meet for breakfast or lunch, in an atmosphere of relaxed conviviality that the chef and his wife have intentionally created to ""pamper"" their clients: Bottura himself often hangs out with them, offering them a taste of a special dish or just stopping for a chat.

In the project, created for a villa in Sicily, the kitchen - positioned with a view of the sea - is in total symbiosis with the organisation of the general layout and in continuous interaction with the living room. The coveted award was presented to the design project during the official ceremony held on 24 May at the Fondazione Riccardo Catella headquarters, in Milan.
