Safety first. World Day for Safety and Health at Work

World Occupational Health and Safety Day was established to promote the prevention of illnesses and accidents by focusing international attention on the extent of the problem and how the promotion and creation of a safety and health culture can help to reduce the number of work-related deaths and injuries.

Ernestomeda has always been aware of these issues in its determination to reinforce a company ethic centred on safeguarding people and the correct management of all aspects of production, as well as the protection of the environment.

Staff training, analysis of near-miss incidents, strict selection and management of subcontractors, and the choice of safer and safer machinery and equipment, are the pillars through which it ensures the highest health and safety standards for all staff, day in, day out.

With its long-standing commitment to the realisation of a corporate management standard oriented towards continuous improvement, Ernestomeda was one of the first companies in Italy - in the furnishing industry - to achieve  OHSAS 18001  certification (2008); and in December 2020 it completed the transition to the new ISO 45001 standard, the first international norm to set global standards for the protection of workers. It covers the procedures by which a company identifies and monitors risks and all hazards which may arise from its operations, to manage them proactively and optimise its performance.

Safety first.
