The environmental sustainability of a product or process originates mainly in the design phase.
This is one of the reasons why Ernestomeda invests so much in research into the best solutions within the green paradigm applied to design.
Product Life Cycle Assessment
This analysis method assesses the entirety of a product or service’s interactions with the environment, considering its whole life cycle, starting from the sourcing of the raw materials, by way of their processing, the various production activities, distribution, use (and any reuse), maintenance and final disposal.
Environmental impact
The main parameters concern the impact of the process/product on a number of fundamental environmental factors (such as greenhouse gas, emissions or global warming).
Ernestomeda performs regular LCAs on its products and has drawn on its lengthy experience in this area to define its own “Ecodesign” procedure.
The “Ecodesign” procedure developed by Ernestomeda aims to offer the market products and materials with the least possible environmental impact, from intelligent design to the efficient use of resources and raw material, through to the end-of-life disposal of the product.
